Susan Novak Photo For Immediate Release SAMBA PA TI AND BOOMERANG After two days of racing off Oahu Hawaii, John Kilroy's TP52 Samba Pa Ti and John Spadaro's Sydney 41 Boomerang share the lead with 5 points each in the ORR fleet. Samba Pat Ti leads the PHRF fleet. Dave Nottage's Kaimiloa is in third in the ORR fleet and Boomerang and Kaimiloa are tied for second in the PHRF fleet. Sailed in 15 28 knots of wind and a 4 - 8 foot seas the crews fought their way upwind and then surfed down the Oahu coast in the same final leg of Transpac. Two more Aloha Class Transpac boats finished today during the regatta. The Diamond Head lighthouse communications HQ had a fun time directing the Transpac follow-me boat to the correct boats. Racing continues tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. between Diamond Head and Kokohead with two long windward leeward races. The Waikiki Offshores Series takes place each July at the Waikiki Yacht Club and is open to all ocean-racing boats.
