WAIKIKI OFFSHORES SERIES ANNOUNCES
INTERNATIONAL TEAM YACHT RACING FOR 2007

Honolulu, Hi. U.S.A. The Waikiki Yacht Club announced today the inaugural WAIKIKI OFFSHORE SERIES INTERNATIONAL TEAM RACE will be held from Saturday July 28 to Sunday, August 5, 2007 following Transpac 2007.

We have interest from boats in Australia, Japan and the US to bring back International Team Racing said Regatta Chair Steve Thomas. The Waikiki Offshore Series provides some of the best racing in the world offering tropical trade winds, open ocean surfing, spectacular views and Hawaii’s aloha spirit.

The Waikiki Offshore Series runs every year following the Transpac, Pacific Cup and Vic/Maui Races. The inaugural International Team and individual racing format will be held bi-annually after Transpac. The timing is set to allow the boats to reach San Francisco with plenty of time to prepare for Big Boat Series.

Drawing from the experience of the successful Royal Hawaiian Cup, Pan Am Clipper Cup and Kenwood Cup series, the Waikiki Offshore courses include eight offshore buoy races, a 40 - mile intermediate course along the scenic leeward coast of Oahu and a 145 - mile race across the Kaiwi channel between Oahu and Molokai. This racecourse will take the fleet along the spectacular cliffs of Molokai, around a mark off of Maui and returns to Waikiki.

The 2007 event will also host a reunion of all Pan Am Clipper Cup and Kenwood Cup series skippers, crews and supporters at a special function at the Waikiki Yacht Club during the first bi-annual International Team Race series.
